Sheffield’s wedding photographer and in Season 6, Episode 8 she portrays herself. In Season 5, Episode 20 she plays Fran and Mr. Whoopi, like Rosie, shows up twice in The Nanny. Nanny Fran Fine appeared as a guest on a (fake) episode of her eponymous daytime show.

A full season later, after The Rosie Show hit the air, O’Donnell returned to play herself in Season 4, Episode 4. The first house she knocks on is that of widower and Broadway theater producer, Maxwell Sheffield.
Fran decides to try selling cosmetics door-to-door. Things change when Danny dumps Fran for their high school friend, Heather Biblow, and also fires her as he wants to give Fran's sales job to Heather. Early thirty-somethings Fran Fine and Val Toriello are best friends since high school, both of whom work as salesgirls in a bridal shop in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, the shop operated by Fran's long term "pre-engagement" high school boyfriend, Danny Imperiali.
